A money transfer site built in Arabic first
Safi moves money across Syria and abroad. Their customers read Arabic, so we designed in Arabic from the first sketch instead of flipping an English layout at the end.

The challenge
Safi has branches in most Syrian governorates and works with Sham Cash, Vodafone Cash and InstaPay. Two very different people land on the home page. The first has never used Safi and wants to know, in seconds, whether it is safe and what it costs. The second already trusts Safi and just needs the nearest branch and its phone number. Serve only the first and regulars give up scrolling. Serve only the second and newcomers never start.
Our approach
We wrote and laid out the Arabic first. Direction became a property of the layout, so nothing needed mirroring later, and Arabic numerals sit correctly beside Latin ones in amounts and phone numbers. The four services — Sham Cash to Safi, local transfers, international transfers and currency exchange — are named plainly and given equal space on the home page, with no jargon in between. The branch network became a directory you filter by governorate, and each branch shows its address and a phone number you can tap to call.
The outcome
One Arabic site that answers both visitors. Newcomers understand the service without scrolling. Regulars reach a branch phone number in two taps.
