One store, four things that sell in completely different ways

Nusuk sells handmade gifts, home decoration, abayas and perfume. Four categories with almost nothing in common except the person buying them.

The challenge

You choose an abaya by how it hangs and whether it will fit. You cannot see a perfume at all, so you buy it on the description. You buy a prayer rug for its texture and the work in it. Put all three in the same grid of squares and each one loses the thing that sells it. The handmade quality, which is what justifies the price, disappears completely.

Our approach

We split the store into collections instead of one long catalogue, and gave each one the layout it needs. Clothing leads with full-length photography. Perfume leads with words. Decoration leads with close-ups of the work. Then we moved the three questions every overseas buyer asks — does it ship to me, is paying safe, is this really handmade — to the top of the home page, where they are answered before anyone reaches a product. Checkout was built for prices in AED and shipping by DHL Express.

The outcome

One store that sells four different kinds of thing properly, and answers the trust questions before the cart rather than after it.

  • The shop page, with category filters down one side and the product grid beside them.
  • Product listings with prices, colour options and size filters.
  • Further product rows, showing abayas, dresses and gift sets.
  • A product page, with the description, sizing chart and available colours.
